Oviedo Chickens

While there are a few who find the local chicken population a pain, there are so  many others in the Oviedo Florida Area that would truly miss these roaming birds. Oviedo itself is a bird sanctuary and as far as the definition of bird:

Definition of BIRD

1. 1.      archaic : the young of a feathered vertebrate
2. 2.       any of a class (Aves) of warm-blooded vertebrates distinguished by having the body more or less completely covered with feathers and the forelimbs modified as wings

Very few townships or Cities could claim that any bird, I suppose with the exception of the wild turkeys that nearly stop traffic in many places in Massachusetts, like the chickens that roam freely through Oviedo Florida. While most of the chickens are found in the city near the oldest retail area of Oviedo and its Post Office, the added humor of the presence of chickens is the restaurant Popeye’s Chicken that can have one to five or six local chicken residents hanging out in the parking lot of the restaurant.
